Hello Friends –
I have some exciting news to report – I have added another sponsor! It is my pleasure to announce that I have teamed up with Scott Pledger and his group at Wackem Crazy Baits! Wackem offers an outstanding line of hand-poured plastics in a variety of colors and designs. These baits are very durable, and fish love ’em! I am proud to be working with Wackem, and look forward to keep you all posted on what colors and baits are working out on the pond!
I had several trips this week, all with great success. I want to highlight my trip with Ron and Westin. We went out together on Friday and really had a great day. We worked Wackem Worms and Green Yum Houdini worms on a shaky head for our best results – everything we threw was dipped in JJ’s Magic Clear – more bites baby! We focused on bluff walls with wood and rock, but the rock was really key. Brush in 15-20 feet was also very productive for us. Westin jumped on ’em right away catching fish on the shaky head – some solid ones too. Dad was the hero for the day though as he popped a 4 pound spot in the afternoon – great to see how much fun he had with the that one. Make sure to check out the pictures on my website. Ron and Westin were a great father/son combo – they learned quickly and applied the knowledge to put a spanking on the fish! Great job Westin and Ron!! Can’t wait for the next trip! I also had the pleasure of taking out Waine Pittman on Saturday, a local Atlanta-area pro who was in town to prepare for a late October tournament on Lanier. Waine qualified for the BassMasters Classic 2 years ago, and is an outstanding angler. I showed him some of my hotspots on the lake – we caught over 20 for the day, with Waine connecting on a 4 1/2 pound lip for big fish of the day. Waine and I worked the shaky head again for our best results – steep rock and brush were the keys. Topwater has been hit or miss, but we caught some good ones this week on a regular pop-r at daylight. My biggest was 3.5 lbs, and they were agressive hits! Check it out each day – I expect this to get better in the days ahead. I also had a trip on Sunday with Kurt and Dave – we caught a few on the shaky head in the AM on rocky bluffs, but had the day cut short by motor trouble. I look forward to getting these guys back out again soon – they were alot of fun and good anglers – I know the next trip will be much more productive! I have a couple of days open this week – call me TODAY at 770-542-7764 to book your trip! Visit my website at Jimboonlanier.com More to come next week with another full report! Good luck out there!
