Video Fishing Reports
In an effort to connect more personally with my audience, I have recently began to offer Weekly Video Fishing Reports. Each Thursday I publish a new Video Fishing Report that delivers to you, the angler, the following information:
- Detailed lake conditions
- Discussion of specific baits I have been using to include color and size
- Explanation of current patterns and key presentation tips
- Specific map-denoted locations that I have been catching fish through that week.
I then wrap it up with the “Jimbo FutureCast”, which are my predictions for the coming weekend based on anticipated lake and weather conditions. I provide details on how I would approach the weekend and the areas on which I would focus. This is great insight for you tournament anglers out there as well as the weekend fisherman.
So, this 5-7 minute video will provide you everything you need to know to make your weekend fishing as productive and enjoyable as possible! Click the link below to learn more and get your subscription started NOW!

Current Conditions
Water Temp – 49 degrees
Water Level – 5.0 feet Over full pool
Wow! The lake conditions have changed dramatically over the past week. Currently the lake stands at 5.0 feet over full pool, and surface temperature sits around 49 degrees. The backs of the live creeks are heavily stained to muddy all over the lake and the rivers are muddy and blown out. Please be careful of floating debris when navigating the lake for the next few days. The US Army Corp of Engineers has begun 24 hour water release as of 8:55 AM on Sunday, Feb 24. The lake has already came down .1 feet – we are headed in the right direction folks!
What’s Happening
A worm has been our best bet for catching fishing this week. We have been working this bait on rocky points at the mouths of pockets and creeks. Also, a shallow to medium diver like the Castaway 1.5 Shad crank has been good when the wind is blowing. Work the crank baits on shallow rock points and clay banks, both in creeks and on the main lake. Some days the wood in these areas is holding fish as well, so make sure to make some casts to the now many pieces of flooded cover. The forecast for next week looks much warmer and drier, I hope you will make plans to come join me for what is sure to be an awesome pre-spawn bite!
